Dr. Anastasija Ševčenko is a resident physician at the RSU Clinic of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy. She obtained her medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at Riga Stradiņš University.
Alongside her medical studies, she was an active member of the student scientific interest groups in psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy, psychiatry, and pediatrics, and served on the Mental Health Team of the Latvian Medical Students' Association. Her research interests have included the relationship between depressive symptoms and markers of oxidative stress, as well as the potential of these biomarkers to predict the outcomes of various therapeutic interventions.
She believes that psychotherapy provides a safe and respectful space where individuals can develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships with others. Through empathic collaboration and open dialogue, psychotherapy can foster personal growth while strengthening both emotional balance and physical well-being in everyday life.
“All things are so very uncertain, and that's exactly what makes me feel reassured.”
